Mr. Wayne Smith is a Business Professional with over 17 years experience in Financial and General Management, and Accounting and Auditing. He holds an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School and is a fellow of both the Institute of Certified Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
He has extensive management experience in group companies engaged in Media and communications; Banking and general insurance, Pension Fund management, Trade Administration, Housing and Water project developments, Construction management, Hospitality and Travel industries, and petroleum and renewable energy sectors. Mr. Smith also has vast experience in mergers and acquisition and turnaround strategies for companies.
He has extensive knowledge of private and public sector management. He has served as the Chairman of a public sector company, which provided water supply to 200 communities in Jamaica over a three year programme in Collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Housing, National Water Commission and the Government of Jamaica
Mr. Smith has risen over US$20 Million in loan financing from a consortium of Financial Institutions to fund water and housing related infrastructure projects in Jamaica.
Several business entities have benefited from Mr. Smith’s wealth of business knowledge. He has extended his services to numerous professional and business entities. He has presided on the boards of over 10 well established institutions.
Mr. Smith is presently the Managing Director at KES Development Company Limited where he provides leadership to an integrated group of companies. He has the responsibility of coordinating the business development program and to establish joint venture agreements with land owners. Mr. Smith liaises with Government, Bankers, Regulators and other institutions as part of his general management function.
Mr. Smith is a Kiwanian and a member of the Freemasonry. In his spare time he enjoys reading, music, travelling, cooking. |
